We are an Estonian-American family based in the pearl of eastern Norway – Hurdal. There are two boys in the household - Kaspar is 10 and Christopher is 12. They are helping around the house and you’ll see them in the afternoons when they are off from school. In addition to that we have an uncle, a dog, a cat, a rabbit and a grandma who occasionally flies here from Estonia to help
in the kitchen.
Location
Location Our house is located on the west side of Hurdalsjoen Lake in Rustad in Hurdal commune at the county of Akershus and is only 20 min drive from Gardermoen airport. Our B&B is a convenient place for a car tourist who is just interested in spending a night and then continuing with the trip to north or south, but also for people who would like to spend a little longer period of time exploring the beautiful nature of Eastern Norway. Distances to cities and towns close by: Jessheim -30 min drive, Eidsvoll –30 min drive, Hamar – 1 hour drive, Gjøvik – 1 hour drive, Oslo 1 hour drive.1,5 hour drive to Lillehammer and 2 hours to Kongsvinger.
Road discription
From Oslo: Drive E6 north towards Trondheim/Gardermoen. Take the exit towards Gardermoen airport from E6. Take exit 35 towards Nannestad/Hønefoss. Drive straight through a roundabout next to Statoil. Drive through 2 more roundabouts. In the third roundabout keep to the left still on the road to Nannestad. Before the 4.roundabout you will see a sign to Hurdal. Turn to the right in the roundabout. Turn left in the 5.roundabout and drive through Moreppen. Drive about 5 minutes to the next roundabout (Maura to the left and Dal to the right). Drive straight through the roundabout. You will soon see Stensgård church on your right hand in the beginning of lake Hurdalsjoen. Keep driving on the same road along the lakeside. Drive through Sandsnesseter and you will come to Rustad in Hurdal commune. You will see a red Coop samvirkelag (local convenient store) on the right side of the road. Pass the store and continue on the same road for 1,2 km more. You will see a red and a yellow house on the right side of the road. Turn in – you have arrived at our bed & breakfast.
